Okay, I think lawyers are miserable souls.
No offence yeah, it's just a personal sentiment.

I shall narrate a story.
First, let's establish the fact that they're all fictional & any resemblance of it to real-life events would be purely coincidental. (:

Officegirl is insanely frustrated by her job. Why so? 'Cos she's got plenty of tasks to complete on this particular day but her laptop kept encountering a series of problems causing her to delay & yes, she even had to leave her designated desk for quite awhile for reasons not be mentioned. In addition to that, her three bosses had to be so goddamn effing particular about details & changed the templates for legal letters thereby exacerbating her vexation.

1) Lawyer A decides to be goddamn effing anal for once & edited the original template from "by ___ February 2010 by 8.00pm" to "by 8.00pm on ___ February 2010" WTF?! DEAL WITH IT LA! THE FORMER IS GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT ANYWAY. Urgh. bugger.

2) Officegirl followed instructions & went according to the original template with the given instructions of "to issue WOS or SD" HOWEVER, lawyer B fervently insisted there was "no such template" SO ALRIGHT, officegirl followed his instruction of only including one sort of "threaten device"(either WOS or SD depending on the pleading file) but TODAY he decided to return to the original template (the one which included "to issue WOS and/or SD"". WTF?! THEN DON'T EVEN ASK OFFICEGIRL TO CHANGE THE INITIAL TEMPLATE LA URGH >:(

3) Lawyer C. Officegirl used to look up to you, with respect. But now, her impression of you has changed, dramatically. Yknow what? Haven't you heard? "IT'S (EFFING) HUMAN NATURE TO ERR"!!!!!!!!!! Unless of course lawyer C is trying to imply that he's a goddamn PERFECT homosapien who doesn't ever make a single effing mistake. (: Oh wow, that would be..immortal really. (-.-) Frankly speaking, officegirl has been trying to be more careful & have not been making much mistakes in her legal letters. 'Tis just a pity that well, ONCE IN A FREAKING WHILE, errors are unfortunately made due to sheer carelessness. Oh & fyi, officegirl ain't dumb. She KNOWS the urgency of the "by hand" letters & thus always completes them first. She's just sorry that erm, oh, her laptop suddenly crashed on her & she had to leave her desk for...quite some time. (-.-) Furthermore, these letters do not always arrive after the email has been sent to her superiors. She has freaking tried her best to get them done so GIVE HER A BREAK LA & BUGGER OFF.

Alright, that's the end of "Officegirl's Life in a LawFirm: Major Turn-offs".
Once again I would like to emphasize the fact that the aforementioned story is purely fictional & any resemblance to real-life events is considered coincidental.
If anyone who has read this makes his/her own assumptions about the story, IT'S YOUR PROBLEM. I've already stated that it's fictional. (:

Look before you fall;

Okay so anyway, I had the opportunity to follow one of the lawyers from AdventLaw for his court hearing at the Subordinate Court  today. They don't usually allow third-parties (be it interns or pupils) to be present but I was fortunate enough to be granted persmission to admit into chambers. Initially, I thought corporate law was the most boring of the lot, but changed my mind. Somehow, don't ask me how, I found it rather interesting, an eye-opener indeed! Thereafter, the lawyer brought me around the place & I chanced upon my uncle at the Bar Room. And scored my next opportunity to go for a second hearing!:D It was a disputed case over an accident involving two taxis which I thought was quite..silly. :S Ah wells.


On a lighter note,
I <3 my workplace. (: An office filled with the craziest bunch of people. Stress-relieving indeed!
</edit> Okay strike that, love the people, hate the work. I'm just THIS CLOSE to a nervous breakdown. I HATE rushing letters, and then suddenly being piled with stacks of files to AR? Seriously, where's the humanity in that. (okay sounds weird) I think it's majorly ridiculous. I don't mind being given tasks to complete, BUT give a reasonable amount please? I've been having nightmares about work, my mum thinks I'm mentally deranged or something. Oh boy, I need a break. Melodramatic you think? Whatever, I don't care.

Ah wells, last week was awesome though! Met up with friends whom I love alot :D

HI,
I LOVE MY FRIENDS. (:

PTG CLIQUE meetup on fridayyyyy FINALLY! Whoohoo, awesomeness! :D
This week's gonna be a "social" week. Tons of meetups scheduled, I'm eagerly anticipating!
I think I'm fortunate to have made many really good friends who'll be there through it all.
(I don't even have to mention names, you know who you are ;) )

Okay, I'll blog abit about work.
It's been a tiresome lot, really. Handling cases of debts & bankruptcy can be quite a hassle. Especially so when the lawyers are incredibly particular about every single bit of detail on the legal letters you type out, etc. BUT, it was quite an experience nonetheless. Afterall, not everyone gets such an opportunity. (: Office politics was what made my job stint such a major turn-off though. The permanent staff there aren't quite friendly to the temporary staff, sadly. "Welcome to the real world", that's what many told me. It's like, broadening my myopic scope of reality, sigh. Then again, office politics are inherent in every company due to the existence of compeition, I suppose? All these insecure, bitter souls, tsk.  (yay okay I <3 MY JOB NOW...cos...well, everyone's alot nicer & friendlier yipeeyay!) PLUS I've got MORGAN ESTEE KEK with me. (: She's a bundle of joy, really. The only person who kept me going albeit all the stress at work. :D :D :D

OKAY, results day. It keeps bugging me. :S

Sombre; reflective.
The mood which sets in in the traquility of the night.

I must say that year 2009 was like a rollercoaster ride consisting of a series of ups & downs.
I started 2009 with that tremendous angst towards my upcoming A levels examination. That fear, trepidation, anxiety. All these emotions intertwined and started stirring up whenever the thought of that major examination came about. It was the most crucial point because the end-result of this examination would basically determine my future, what course I would be majoring in, and how far I would go in life. Truth be told, I've never accomplished anything exceptional. My results were always average because I've never once put in due effort in my academics. I fared below expectations for my Olevels, I retained in year1, I barely scraped through my second year. Why so? Because I cared too much about fun and well, many other things BUT studies. So for once, I decided that enough is enough. 'Tis time to stop playing and do something about my academics. I can't say that I've given my 100% for my Alevels, but I can definitely say that I've put in more effort than I ever did before. I slogged, I mugged, I was more attentive in lessons, I tried my best. I'm sure each & every single one of us who took the Alevels last year did too. And the journey was no doubt an amazing one. Afterall, like someone once told me..it ain't the end-result which matters most but the process which made it happen. And so...to all my friends who stood by me, supported me, helped me, spurred me on...THANKYOU. (:

And to all my juniors who will be taking their Alevels this year,
BEST ENDEAVOURS! Work hard for it 'cos it's worth it!

I don't know how my Alevels results will turn out,
BUT whatever the case, all honour & glory be to Him above.
'Cos I know Jesus will provide!(:

My work stint at Advent Law Firm starts on 11th.
Hello court cases & all that administrative work, here I come! ):

Yes, I haven't blogged in awhile, I realized.
I got bored of blogging & I got bored of twitter too!
The only source of social networking I'm utilizing would be facebook haha.

30dec was one of my busy days. Haha!
Rushed to meet babylove&herfriend, and shianny in town.
Then rushed off after like 2hours..to meet joonkiat at ikea. (-.-)
Then we travelled to suntec to view the rest of the OCS photoshoot photos.
(of which I look incredibly retarded dammit.)
That meanpok, btw, exasperated me ttm tsk.
Okay then met bitchbuddy & her parents sent us to zouk/phuture which was...
FREAKING CROWDED!!!!!! I think they even max-ed their quota and many couldn't get in??!
Thank goodness kerine's friend helped us to get in!
Had a helluva time haha! Music was only good after 2am though.

Spent newyear'seve shopping with mummy in town and whoa-oh we spent like 700bucks or so.
I <3 my workingclothes man haha I srsly wouldn't mind wearing them out anytime!:D
Got a bag from Raoul and two bags from Esprit too! & a pair of Levi's jeans mehehehe. >:)
It's not often that I get to be pampered like that srsly haha.
Went to aunt's place for countdown thereafter whoosh. OKAY g'night!

This is going to be a non-image post. (:

Spent the morning/early afternoon with the family!
Watched "Storm Warriors" with my brother, I can't believe I did that haha!
Had my first driving lesson which was no doubt eggciting yet nonetheless scary!
I was so nervous & tensed AND the instructor made me drive on the road already,
on my first lesson! Plus, I chose to learn manual so it's tougher.
Sigh, I should have been wiser & just chose auto, like all my other girl friends.
Oh wells, at least it makes me happier to know that I can drive both types!:D

Choir prac in church on wed, thurs & the entire weekend ohmy!
All for the sake of the christmas musical & caroling.

While writing my lit essays, I was already eagerly anticipating the end of it. WTH hahaha!

Anyway, it's over. Finally. My 25th november has arrived. (:

I knew I wouldn't be so lucky.
Lit paper1 made me sad. Stupid "Disgrace" question tsk.
Econs paper2 majorly mass massacred all of us.
(except for the elites of course)
Managed to complete it but heck, it was a toughie.
